The book is an analysis with optimism to highlight the riddles of Indian politics for a better understanding of its character, functioning and intricacies. The political wisdom and effort, we need in these days of crisis, can hardly be found in our country’s politicians, their ability and talent that should have long grown to solve the acute social, economic and educational problems, have gone astrayed; and as a result, the people at large are facing untold miseries. The constitutional foundation of Indian political culture is clearly based on the principles of freedom, equality and fraternity, along with secularism, socialism national unity and dignity of the individual, that emphasize to develop a democratic social order as a way of life rather than a system of governance, still exists as a dream. Democracy is more than a set of institutions; and that should provide at least food, housing, and cloth to them. Instead, Indian politics is riddled with problems of its own creation.
