Role of Nationalised Bank Rural Development

Dr. A.S. Rana: Born on 7 May 1947, had his early education at Rohtak. He passed his M.A. (Economics) from Kurukshetra University in Research Fellowship, but soonafter joined Haryana Educational Service as Lecturer in Economics. He served as Lecturer in different U.G. and P.G. Government Colleges of the Haryana state upto 1991. He earned U.G.C. fellowship in 1984for doing Ph.D. from M.D. University, Rohtak and was awarded Ph.D. in 1989 on the “Role of Nationalised Banks in the Development of Rural Sector of Haryana”. Dr. Rana joined as Reader in Department of Economics M.D. University, Rohtak in 1991 and promoted as professor in 2001. He also served as Director, National Law College, Gurgaon from August 2002 to 2003. Since September, 2003 he is Head of Department of Economics, M.D. University, Rohtak. Dr. Rana has published more than 20 research papers in various national and international journals and about 5 books on Economic themes. His book entitled ‘Advanced Macro-Economic Theory and Policy’ has been in a number of refresher courses; organized for college and university teachers and widely appreciated. He is Member and Chairman of Academic Bodies of U.G. and P.G. Board of Studies, Member, Academic Council, M.D. University, Rohtak, Expert at the U.G. Board of Studies, K.U., Kurukshetra. Dr. Rana is also serving as Vice-Chairman, Haryana Economic Association.
