The socio-economic context of medical care in developing country like India, becomes the focal point of investigation for understanding the nature and extent of the efficacy of contemporary health care delivery system. There are also various social factors responsible for not utilising existing medical facilities by rural masses. These social factors are: caste, religion, level of education, level of family relationship with other members of the family and kinship etc. This is a fact that medicine has become a prolific industry and medical institutions because of their gigantic proportion and complex nature have become the elephantistis of the developing economy.
