Tourism in rural areas represents a potential panacea for many of the effects generated by globalisation. It influences resultant internationalisation of culture ad consumption patterns. It also represents a panacea for the host communities, many of whom face uncertain futures in the post-modern world. It has to balance values, wants, desires, realities, fantasy, the values of the past and the demands of the present. During preparation of this work we have utilized extremely important papers and proceedings of the subject. We record our gratitude and acknowledgement to every one of them.
