ABOUT THE AUTHOR Arvind Mahajan

Dr. Arvind Mahajan, born on December 10th, 1961, at Gaya (Bihar), is an Officer in Patna Museum, Patna. He has a brilliant academic record to his credit. He did his post-graduation with specialization in Archaeology and Art from Magadh University, Bodh Gaya in the Year 1983 and was awarded Ph.D. in the year 1987 from the same University. Subject of his Ph.D. research was "A Study of the Temples and Religious sites of Gaya Region (Ancient and Medieval). He has evinced his deep interest in study of the religio-philosophical and socio-economic background of the Indian art. He is a serious researcher and works in the field of cultural history, which envisages art, architecture, social anthropology and religious history. He has authored a number of valuable and thought provoking research-papers and book-reviews, published in various journals of India and abroad. Presently he is working on "Gaya Sraddha: A Cult for Eco-friendliness".
