ABOUT THE AUTHOR Nirbhai Singh

Dr. Nirbhai Singh (b. 1935), specialized in philosophy of Sikhism, was Professor of Comparative Religion in the Department of Religious Studies, Punjabi University, Patiala, and retired from the same university in 1995 as Professor and Head of Philosophy Department. He was editor of the prestigious research journals: The Religious Studies, Punjabi University, Patiala and The Humanities and Social Sciences, IIAS, Shimla. He was member of the Indian Council of Philosophical Research (ICPR), New Delhi. He was selected Fellow at Indian Institute of Advanced Study (IIAS), Shimla, to research on “Cretique of Sikh Voluntarism”. Recently he has been working on: Critique of Medieval Indian World-view” and: Mystery of Human Life.” He has to his credit five original research books on Sikh Philosophy, Bhakta Namadeva, Medieval Saints, et al. He participated and presented research papers in National and International Seminars and Conferences. He contributed scores of research articles journals and the daily newspapers.
