About the book entrepreneurship is considered as an important prerequisite for economic development. Entrepreneurs, who imbue the quality of entrepreneurship, play a major role not only in organizing production, but in a broader sense, promote the process of economic development. History of economic development of all societies, developed our underdeveloped, bears evidence to the fact that entrepreneurs have made significant contribution to this respect. Entrepreneurship development has been accepted in India as s strategy for achieving the twin objectives of solving the problem of unemployment, particularly among the educated unemployed youths and also for rapid industrialization. The present book which is based on empirical research findings will be very useful to researchers, students and teachers of commerce, economics and management in the country.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR G.P. Prasain
Dr. G.P. Prasain, an alumnus of Banaras Hindu University, is presently Associate Professor and Head, Department of Commerce, Manipur University. He has contributed many articles and research papers in reputed journals and books of social sciences, apart from presenting a number of papers at various seminars and conferences held at regional, national and international level. He is life member of many academic and professional bodies of the country. He has been serving on the Boards of Studies and Boards of examiners of several universities for M.Com., MBA and Ph.D. Programmes. Dr. Prasain has published a book on Entrepreneurship Development and edited three issues of the Journal “Kangleipak Business review†, a journal published by the Department of Commerce, Manipur university. His areas of interest are Human resource management, industrial relations, Small Business Management and Entrepreneurship Development.
