This book is not about people you recognize. It is about those who resemble them. They are, therefore, unknowable. The only reality is the forest which, even after its disappearance, still remains mirrored in the sky. "An evocative cocktail of shikar, sex and metaphysics. The main strength of this first novel by Inderjit Badhwar is its originality, of both theme and style of writing. The character of the `Papa` figure is convincing because it is brawn with wit, compassion and detachment. A welcome addition to the growing body of Indian contributions to English literature."

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Inderjit Badhwar

Inderjit Badhwar was born in the heart of rural India in the 1940’s. In 1968, after a liberal western education in the country’s elite institutions such as the Doon School and St. Stephen’s college, he settled in the United States where, after an Ivy League degree from Columbia University, he worked as an editor and journalist for major American newspapers, magazines and TV stations. He returned to India in 1986 and headed India Today’s editorial team. He is now settled in New Delhi, giving final strokes to his new writing.
