Raj Bhanti retired as Principles at the Udaipur School of Social Work, Rajasthan Vidyapeeth (Deemed Raj Bhanti retired as Principles at the Udaipur School of Social Work, Rajasthan Vidyapeeth (Deemed University), Udaipur, India, in 2001, Prior to this position, she worked as Director of field work for 17 years. She did her post-graduation in three subjects, viz., Social Work, Education and History. She was awarded her Ph.D. degree in 1979 in Social Work. During her outstanding career as a social work educator, she has worked on various assignments and positions. She worked as local project advisor for the students of School of International Training, World Learning Institute, Brattleboro, Vermont, U.S.A. She was guide and supervisor for the students of social work at Stockholm University, Sweden, and Trondheim University, Norway. She has carried out several research projects and also guided postgraduate and Ph.D. researches in Social Work. She has authored and edited over half a dozen books and contributed numerous research papers in books and journals of repute. Besides delivering talks and participating in several international meets in U.S.A., Japan, Swedan, Canada, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore and Holland and other places, she is actively involved with national and local associations and chapters. He major areas of interest have been welfare of women, child and old people; tribal welfare and rural development and methods of social work. At present she is Visiting Professor at Jain Vishva Bharti Institute, (Deemed University), Ladnun, rajasthan.
