In this study, we have examined socialisation of women education and its impact on socio-economic life of educated women. While analysing the development of women’s education, it was noticed, how essential it is to take into account the very wide socio-economic spectrum in our society. This work is organised in six chapters. Social reform and women education in pre-independence India has been discussed in first chapter. Second chapter throws light on socialisation of women education. Value education and women has been described in third chapter and fourth chapter deals with women in changing marriage pattern. Fifth chapter gives an emphasis on socialisation of higher educated and professional women and policy, development and challenges of women education is critically examined in the last chapter of this book.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Alka Saxena

Alka Saxena, M.A. and Ph.D., from Ranchi University, Ranchi, has had a brilliant academic record. As a keen researcher, dr. saxena devoted her life on tribal development and women welfare. She is running a NGO in hazaribagh district. She has successfully completed several research projects and welfare programmes sponsored by the Government of India and other funding agencies. She participated and presented research papers in may national and international seminars, workshops and conferences.
