Socio-Cultural and Spiritual Traditions of Tripura

This is a study on the different Janajati people of various social, cultural and religious traditions who make up the state of Tripura. It aims to fill the gap in terms of non-availability of sufficient literature on the Janajati traditions of the state. With specific respect to many tribes such as the Bru (Reang), the Halam and Malsom Janajati, it discusses the dynasties and legends associated with them, their worship and propitiation of deities, rites and customs related to birth, marriage and death, concepts of soul, sin, salvation and redemption, and festivals and ceremonies.
