Sociological Aspects of Asian Development

The crucial problem of development of underdeveloped countries in Asia and the Far East has been engaging the attention of social scientists, administrators and planners throughout the world. The question why certain countries are more developed than the others has drawn the mind of the author and the result is the essence of the research findings culled in the shape of the present book. The author has adopted interdisciplinary approach for the understanding and analysis of the problems of development. He has shown how development is a unified process involving integration of social, economic and political aspects. The role of bureaucracy and intellectuals in a developing country has also been explained.
