ABOUT THE AUTHOR Nav Prem Singh
Dr. Nav Prem Singh was born on 13th October 1971 at Amritsar and completed his B.Sc. Hons. (Agriculture) from Khalsa College, Amritsar in 1994, M. Sc. (Pomology) and Ph.D. (Pomology) in 1997 and 2002 respectively from Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana. He served as Agricultural Development Officer (P.A.S.-I) from September, 2000 to May, 2003 and thereafter worked as Assistant Horticulturist at RFRS, Bahadurgarh (Patiala) and served as Incharge, Fruit Resarch Station, Gangian (Dasuya) Hoshiarpur from April, 2006 to June, 2008. Presently, he is working as Assistant Professor of Horticulture, in Department of Horticulture, Punjab Agricultural University and is involved in teaching, research and extension activities. He is working on the crop improvement, propagation and production technology in mango, litchi, citrus, pomegranate and pears. He has widely surveyed and evaluated indigenous mango germplasm in sub mountain region of Punjab. He is associated in the development of sucking mango variety ‘Gangian Sindhuri’ and his three recommendations regarding production technology of fruits are included in package and practices published by PAU. He published six book chapters, 30 research papers and extension articles in reputed national and international journals/scientific magazines.
