ABOUT THE AUTHOR C P Kothandaraman

C.P. Kothandaraman, B.E. (Hons.), M.S., Ph.D., F.I.E., started his teaching career as lecturer in Mechanical Engineering in 1958 at the P.S.G. College of Technology. After promotion as a professor in 1967, he continued to work for the college until his retirement in 1991 as a Vice Principal. His subject areas are Heat Transfer, Thermal Science and Engineering, Fluid Mechanics, Refrigeration and Air-conditioning, Solar Energy and Bio-gas Applications. Since 1985, he has also guided teaching of CAD/CAM subjects. His other books with the same publishers are (1) Fundamentals of Heat and Mass Transfer (2) Refrigeration Data Book and (3) Steam Tables. His other publication in this area is the widely used Heat and Mass Transfer Data Book for which Dr. S. Subramanian is the co-author. He has also co-authored books on Thermodynamics, Thermal Engineering and Computer Graphics. He is now engaged in providing consultation in the design of heat exchangers, dryers, boilers and dust collection equipment.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR S.S. Bhavikatti

Dr. S.S. Bhavikatti served the Karnakata Regional Engineering College (presently NITK) Surathal as a teacher from 1963 to 2001 occupying various positions. Presently he is Head of Civil Engineering Department and Dean (Academic) at SDM College of Engg. & Tech., Dharwad. He has published more than 45 technical papers in Journals and Conferences of national and international repute.
