Space power is the capability to exploit space forces to support national security strategy and achieve national security objectives. Used effectively, space power enhances America’s opportunities to succeed across the broad range of military operations. Space warfare is combat that takes place in outer space, i.e. outside the atmosphere. Technically, as a distinct classification it refers to battles where the targets themselves are in space. Space warfare therefore includes ground-to-space warfare, such as attacking satellites from the earth, as well as space-to space warfare, such as satellites attacking satellites. This book seeks to load the accessible vacuum about the development of space for our defense in prospect an area that will assume more and more dangerous dimension in modern defense and warfare.
