Srimad Bhagavadgita, known as the Song Celestial, was imparted by Lord Krishna to the deluded hero, Arjuna, on the battlefield of Kurukshetra. That, however, is not the sum and substance of the Gita.

An ageless, highly revered book, the Gita (Srimad Bhagavadgita) offers the quintessence of all Hindu scriptures. Emanating from the divine lips of Lord Krishna, it is the one discourse, wherein Sri Bhagavan Himself imparted spiritual wisdom to a human disciple. The tenets expounded in the Gita’s 700 slokas (verses) are as relevant today to the entire mankind as ever before – for the discourse here is absolutely free from dogmatic do’s and don’ts of any kind. Here is a fresh, at once compelling commentary on this all-time great classic, including the original Sanskrit verses, together with their English translation and comprehensive annotations. The book also includes the author’s illustrative stories touching upon several timeless issues.

In short, the Bhagavadgita elucidates the means and the goal of attaining lasting peace and God realization. This book will be of immense help to all aspirants in this endevour.
