Language of a nation is a not at times, the same, like the thoughts and feelings but is capable of enrichment, expansion and modification in hundred ways with the advance of civilization and fortunes of history. The process of change is continuous one, and one period passes by insensible gradation into author. There are transitions and overlapping between any two periods because state of flux, which changes gradually and is perpetually changing. There are certain great historical events which have profound influence upon men’s lives, their thoughts and ideas, their ways of life and upon the language they speak. Study of such external events and their impact on language is called the history of the language.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR M S Bhatnagar

M.S. Bhatnagar has obtained his M.A. (English) and B.Ed. degree from Delhi University.  A trained senior lecturer from Delhi, he has a long experience of teaching English language for more than twenty years.  He has written many articles in journals of repute and consultant to many educational institutions.  Now his main aim is to promote education to the masses.
