The essence of structure design is to form a system that will direct the forces in certain directions and bring them to ground with the maximum material efficiency and minimum of interior space obstruction. Architectural structure systems of bulk active structures, vector active structure, form active structures, surface active structures, pneumatic structures and high rise structures have been discussed in detail, bringing out their method of supporting external loads / forces, without getting involved with mathematical analysis. There is hardly any structure, which will exclusively belong to one system, but for ease of understanding, each structure system, has been discussed separately.
