Struggle for Identity in North-east India is a record of the turmoil and suffering faced by the states of the region. This is the testament of one who has witnessed all that has happened in the last five decades and more. The book discusses important and far-reaching questions and answers about the role of the church and Christian missions. Parallels are also drawn between similar struggles in the era of Martin Luther King Jr. in the USA and our very own Gandhiji’s Satyagraha or non-violent movement. The book offers the wisdom of simple and godly actions to achieve a paradise status here in the north-eastern states, which are otherwise so rich in culture as well as natural resources. There is no room for violence and terrorism in solving any problems and as we have seen after the recent incidents of terrorist violence in the United States, the democratic world has largely condemned the incidents. Thus the church now has an even more urgent responsibility to take advantage of the gigantic and momentous public sympathy for victims of such violence. This is the correct time for a true religious revival of all faiths, and the church and mission leaders not only in North-east India, but all over the world can take the lead in this respect. It is also hoped that on-going political level talks with the Government of India, presently underway overseas, will lead to an end of the Naga crisis, which is the oldest political problem of the region.
