Dr. Sebastian Brock, through his studies, researches and publications, has indeed brought about a reawakening in the orientations and approaches to the early Syriac literature. He is a profound scholar in oriental languages and religious traditions, especially, especially in the Syriac literature and Christianity. He had his teaching and research undertakings at the Universities of Birmingham, Cambridge and Oxford, U.K. His research findings and literary contributions have invigorated the theological, liturgical, spiritual and mystical reflections of many Eastern Churches, especially those of the family of Syriac traditions.
