Instructional designs provide the scientific basis for the instructional system. It develops the professional skills and efficiency of the teachers in systems planning, organizing, operating and evaluating the educational systems in which technology plays an important role. Technology involves various strategies and tactics both on software and hardware which are to be adopted by the teacher during teaching-learning processes to focus on effective students’ learning. Through such updated technology he formulates the instructional objectives during the instructional planning. Accordingly, he processes the instructional design in exposing the subject content through varieties of teaching styles and methods, instructional skills and approaches, and finally evaluate and feedback the learning outcome for achieving a unified goal for students’ quality learning. The major premise of this book is therefore, concerned with the problems of developing and organizing the instructional design for the effective teaching-learning processes for achieving the desired learning outcomes. It is hoped that this book will help the faculty members of both school and higher learning institutions along with the students of higher education as a source book for their reference.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR P.K.S. Ray

Dr. P.K.S. Ray, M.Sc., M.Ed., from Utkal University, Bhubaneshwar and Ph.D. in Education from M.S. University of Baroda. Presently working as a Principal, Harkamaya College of Education, Gangtok, Sikkim. He was U.G.C. Senior Research Associate during late seventies and early eighties at Regional College of Education, Bhubaneshwar and was Professor and Principal of different Government aided Colleges of Orissa and deputed to Hindustan Aeronautics College, Sunabeda, Koraput as Principal. His field of specialization is Educational Psychology, Educational Technology, Teacher Education, Educational Measurement and Evaluation, Distance Education, Research Methodology and Allied fields. He was academic expert in different Seminars and Workshops at Centre for Advanced Studies in Education, Baroda, Ahilya Bai University of Indore, Banaras Hindu University, N.C.E.R.T., I.G.N.O.U., Utkal University and Ministry of H.R.D. He was direct student of Late. Prof. M.B. Buch, Prof. R.C. Das and Prof. B.K. Passi, who were stirring all the activities in Educational scenario at the National and International levels. Under his guidance more than eight scholars have been awarded Ph.D. degrees and D.Litt. from different Universities and more than ten scholars are doing doctoral degrees.
