This book consists of articles and essays that are described by the author as an attempt at ‘academic journalism’–a term used to suggest the writing of articles of cogent theoretical value for non-academic journals. The collected articles in this book analyse and illustrate the complexity of politics and its dynamics, in a global setting, involving various countries, themes and historical contexts often reflecting the dichotomy between various meanings of political ideologies and their practise. From Dr. Chakravorti’s perspective it can be argued that ‘a political problem is not solved, it may only be settled’. The issues discussed in Terrorism and Other Themes: Politics, Principles and Practice, can be seen as case studies that illustrate this viewpoint.
