The recent forest census of the Liguria region revealed that only about 22% of the forest surface of the whole province of La Spezia is occupies by chestnut compression coppice, mixed coppice woodland and cluster pine woodland represent 21.8% and 15.2% respectively chestnut coppice represents 20% mixed woodland 27.60% oaks, chestnuts, European hop hornbeam, etc, Cluster pine woodland 13.1% olive grove 2.5% and other cultivated land 9.7%.
