The present book “Textiles Pollution” reflects the impact assessment of textiles or dyes houses industrial effluents on quality characteristics of surface groundwater and agricultural soil in Panipat region of Haryana state.

The book mainly deals with pollution aspects of industrial effluents drained by dyes houses and textile industries and played a significant role in degrading the water quality of surface and groundwater and ultimately effected the surrounding environment.  Further, it has emphasized about the distributional pathway of heavy metals from industrial effluents to ground water as well as agricultural soil system.  The accumulation of heavy metals as transfer and enrichment factor also described and calculated the metal accumulation factor among all trophic levels.  Further, the research data may be incorporated along with health hazards among unskilled and skill labors in dyes houses.

The book will be good contribution for scientists, zoologists, agriculturists, health scientists, environmentalists, non-government organizations, research students and serve as a reference to initiate the research in the field of industrial pollution.  The present research data would be inspired to research worker to combat the industrial pollution and its remedial measures on point or non point pollution sources.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR D.S. Malik

Dr. D.S. Malik, Ph.D., FNC, FASEA, is senior lecturer in Department of Zoology and Environmental Science, Gurukula Kangri Vishwavidyalaya, Haridwar.  He is a well-known researcher and academician in the field of Biodiversity Resource Conservation.  He has published about 60 research papers and edited six books.  Dr. Malik is executive editor of Journal Aquacult.  He has been awarded ASEA Young Scientist Award, Nature Conservators, Paryavaran Award and Nature Conservators Impetus Gold Medal.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Pawan Kr. Bharti

Dr. Pawan Kr. Bharti, Ph. D., FASEA has been completed M.Sc. and Ph.D. degree in Environmental Science from Department of Zoology and Environmental Science, Gurukula Kangri University, Hardwar.  He has written more than 32 research and review papers published in national, international journals, proceedings and books.  He has written many Hindi articles and poems in popular magazines.  Dr. Bharti is the fellow and founder member of several academic bodies.  He has been awarded Fellow of ASEA society, Rishikesh, Uttrakhand Vigyan Kavya Ratan and six other awards in the field of scientific literature.  Presently, he is working as Jr. Scientist ‘A’ in Shriram Institute of Industrial Research, Delhi.
