Textuality and Intertextuality in the Mahabharata is a collection of sixteen essays which sets out to explore the limits of the epic. Moving beyond plot and story the epic has come to represent a complex web of meaning produced through multiple strategies of reading and interpreting it. The present collection of essays represents myriad, interesting and insightful dialogue on textuality and intertextuality of the myths, its meaning and metamorphosis of meaning over the years. The contributors have explored the epic in different genres they have taken traditional and radical interpretation into consideration. Papers included in the book were presented at the National Seminar, on the Mahabharata held at the Dept. of English, Dayanand College, Ajmer sponsored by U.G.C., New Delhi.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Pradeep Trikha

Dr. Pradeep Trikha teaches English at Dayanand College, Ajmer. His areas of specialization are Contemporary Australian Fiction, Literary Criticism, and Post-Colonial Literature of late his interest in the ancient literary texts has enabled him to present papers, attend seminars and organize workshops in the area. In 2003 he was invited by Australia-India Council (AIC) Canberra to visit Australian Study Centres at the Universities of Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra, Birsbane, Wollongong and others. He also presented papers at ASAL and ADSA annual conferences. He is currently working on a book of interviews with Australian writers.
