ABOUT THE AUTHOR Niranjan Kumar Ghatak

Niranjan Ghatak born in a village in North 24 Parganas and had his early education there. He was graduated from Bangaon college and later on got his M.Sc. from the University of Calcutta (1976). Ph.D. University of Calcutta in the year 1995). Dr Ghatak under took his work while he was attached to Anthropological Survey of India. Dr. Ghatak as faithful govt office had to shift from one center to another. He has joined as Joint Director, Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Govt. India Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi. As an officer, he is sincere and received by all. His publication (1) Report onBhoksa Education (in retrospect) published in the book Tribal Education in India 1984 (ed.) by Dr. B.K. Dasgupta, Dr. Ajit Kumar Danda, Anthropological Survey of India, Calcutta. (2) Worship of the Cult of Dharma in Chakpara, Birbhum district, West Bengal in Folklore, Vol. 25, No. 11, Whole No. 293, November, 1984. (3) The Sahariyas of Rajasthan- Impact of Development Programme, Vanyajati, Vol. XXXIII, No. 2, 1985 and many others.
