The British Feminists

The British Feminists is a collection of essays on some of the prominent British Feminists. A brief introduction about feminist movement, its history and the details about the suffragettes is given in the introductory chapters. Mary Wollstonecraft is usually considered a liberal feminist. Her vindication and perhaps even more her Maria: the wrongs of woman link women’s oppression to the need for men to change. Germain Greer, the Australian born British feminist is a very notable figure in the 20 century Feminism. Her ideas have created controversy ever since, Belinda Luscombe in Time Magazine called her the ultimate "Trojan Horse." It is hoped that this book will be of good use for students, researchers and teachers of English.
