The Cycle of Spring , first published in 1917, is a translation of Phalguni. A greater part of the introductory portion of this drama was translated by C.F. Andrews and Nishikanta Sen and revised by the author himself. Although its plot is thin, it is rich in music. It was one of the two Tagore dramas associated with the festivals of seasons, the other being Autumn Festival. The play is full of nature. There are songs in the rusting bamboo leaves, in birds’ nests, and in blossoming branches. They are the heralds of spring
