Writing a book on the destiny of nations, especially when they are passing through a phase of decline, is an exercise in pain and anguish. In particular when you are dealing with the fall and decline of the Muslim Ummah, the heart aches and the brow wrings. It is a serious enterprise that needs deep convictions and coherent explanations. The decline was continual and the denial was scandalous. I Have used my pen as a piercing medium for expressing the suffering that emanates from the maladies affecting the arteries of the Muslim Ummah. It is the first step towards that “Practical expression of necessity” that is intimately linked to the consciousness of imperatives. It is a reflection of my realization to the process of reform and transformation that must become an intellectual tool of revolution. It has to be applied effectively if Muslims are to be rescued from the doldrums of stupor and slumber, bondage and decadence. A Study of the present deteriorating conditions reveals that sharp decline is taking place in Muslims’ morals and ethic. Character as a facet of Islamic ethic is no more a distinct characteristic of Muslim personality. The glaring discrepancy between thought and action, between faith and practice led to the disintegration of the Muslim Empires. It is now resorting to the erosion of trust and responsibility, and causing the dissolution of the whole social and inter-state structures. In this book I have tried to illustrate the principles of social and moral renewal that may be employed to bridge the gulf between thought and action. This is how a revolution can be ignited in the sphere of consciousness and creativity. Muslims today neither think, nor deploy their resources for productive purposes. They learn neither from the Quran history. Modernism with some of its manifestations may not be acceptable to some sections of Muslims society, but is cannot be rejected altogether as a system of productivity when it adds constructive ideas and vibrant dimensions to they pattern of life. Modernism need not be the exclusive domain of the West. At the same time a heinous propaganda campaign has been launched in the West to bolster the clash of civilizations in which the main target is Islam. Islamphobia is the resultant consequence that leads to racial violence and religious discrimination. The author, in this book as well as in his previous publications, has used all the possible avenues to make it clear that Islam has nothing to do with violence and terrorism, and incessant attacks on Muslims are unjustified. The unity of the Ummah is a Matter of Conjecture. There is nothing like it currently perceivable. Nevertheless, it is an important subject that needs to be examined. The tragedy of the Ummah lies a in growing violence and extremism, conflicts and sectarian killings. With these negatives Muslims are not moving in the right direction.

Concerned with the gravity of these issues the author has undertaken writing a series of books, which deal with events and environments that affect human life in one way or the other. The idea is to provide adequate information about ISLAM specially to the readers and policy makers in the West and warn of the dangers that any faulty perceptions could pose to the peace and amity in the world. His latest book “Islam & The Clash of Civilizations” is a monumental work in this direction. His other books have also been written with this idea in mind. Among his best known books are: “Islam & And Western Civilizations” “The Quaran & Modermism”, “Terrorism in Action: Why Blame Islam?” and “The Decline of the Muslim Ummah”. All these books have been written from the Islamic perspectives and contribute largely towards removing misunderstandings, which seem to have badly tarnished the image of Islam in the West.
