One of the earliest commentaries on the popular and highly respected yoga scripture known as the Bhagavad Gita was written centuries ago in India by the Philosopherseer Adi Shankaracharya. Several writers have since been endeavoring to explain the message of the Gita, including advocates of sectarian religious beliefs who claimed to have found in it support for their own opinions, and philosophers endeavoring to portray its significance for readers of their times. Now, in a new commentary on this scripture, Roy Eugene Davis explains the inner meaning in the light of Kriya Yoga. The Bhagavad Gita is a guidebook to understand, the reality of God, the processes of universal manifestation, and how every aspiring soul can have awareness to higher knowledge and spiritual wholeness. Its seven hundred verses encourage the reader to acquire Self-knowledge and to intentionally engage in constructive performance of personal duties along with dedicated spiritual endeavour to practice Kriya Yoga. The Sanskrit word Kriya means “actionâ€. Yoga can mean to yoke or unite soul awareness with God; practice of procedures for this purpose; or samadhi, the realization of spiritual wholeness, the culmination of successful practice.
