The Ethics of Reporting the News

A reporter has a very wide scope of reporting the news. The reporter is in a very powerful position to influence certain sections of the society. He thus makes views of the general public. He can lead as well mislead the public. It is, therefore, very necessary that reporting is guided by certain ethical values. Over a period of time, editors and reporters have developed a code of moral values to guide them in their reporting. It is this code of moral values which goes to determine the quality of reporting.
