The Great War and the Novel

Life and literature have a great bond. Sometimes, they resemble each other and sometimes they look totally distinct and different. The Great War and The Novel authored by Dr. Vijay K. Chopra focuses on a period–1921 to 1930–and four great British novelists–Lawrence, Huxley, Ford and Aldington. The war, in itself, leaves great impact on the social and psychological lives of those who are involved but it influences sensitive and creative minds much more. Because a military solution to political and economic differences neither provides solutions nor reduces the agony, misery, alienation and suffering. The writings of Huxley and Lawrence have deeper psychological and futuristic implications.
