The Icfai University Press on Change Management: People Perspectives Change is the only constant. However puzzling this statement may seem, it is absolutely true. Look around you. Does anything remain the same? Look at yourself. You are not the same person you were a moment back! You are changing every moment. Your mind keeps absorbing new information, your perception is changing, and so on. An organization is no different. Not only does it continue to change internally, but a number of external factors impinge upon it, making it necessary to bring about changes to ensure continuing relevance in the changing environment. Leaders must prepare their employees to be ready for change on a regular basis. They play a key role in gauging the environment, making sense of new developments, and reorienting the organization’s plans and strategies to survive and succeed. Certain aspects such as core values and the long-term vision should be formulated in such a manner that they do not lose relevance, irrespective of change. These aspects should be clearly communicated to all the stakeholders of an organization, so that they can bond well with the organization. ABOUT THE AUTHOR Sumati Reddy
Sumati Reddy holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Australia. Her other qualifications include, Bachelor of Arts, Diploma in Hotel Management, Certified Hospitality Educator, Diploma in French, and Diploma in Spanish. She is currently pursuing Ph.D. in the field of Organizational Behavior from Osmania University, Hyderabad. Her topic for the dissertation is ‘The Impact of Organizational Culture on Organizational performance.’ She is a Faculty Member at ICFAI Books, Hyderabad, an affiliate of The ICFAI University. She has edited books on Corporate Social Responsibility, Workforce Diversity, Training and Development and Performance Management. She is also an Adjunct Faculty at the ICFAI Business School, Hyderabad, where she teaches Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management. Her areas of interest include international organizational behavior with a focus on change management, international negotiations, group dynamics, and managerial competencies; and experience in the hospitality and pharma sectors in the functional area of Human Resource Management.
