Personality development pertains to fine-tuning the organized pattern of behaviors and attitudes that makes a person distinctive and effective in interpersonal situations. Personality development is the result of the ongoing interaction of temperament, character, and environment. There are several approaches that can be adopted to enhance one’s personality. Although a significant part of our personality is determined at birth (nature), an equally significant part of our personality is amenable to change based on environmental factors, upbringing, and self-initiated efforts to change oneself (nurture). An individual’s personality is what makes him/her unique. Most of those who are about to enroll for professional programs or to take up professional careers, have a great need to put their best foot forward when they attend interviews and other forms of evaluative processes, where they have to interact with a number of different kinds of people and deal with different kinds of situations. Apart from such people, almost everyone, who has to regularly deal with other people and is interested in making positive impressions, has to be able to manage and conduct himself/herself in the most appropriate manner in a given situation. A person with a well-rounded personality is one who is able to handle most situations confidently, effectively, and make a positive impact on others. The book is a pot-pourri of articles and book summaries on themes pertaining to improving self-confidence, resilience, intuitive ability, persuasion, "finding your voice" (Stephen Covey’s 8th Habit), interpersonal relations, communication and listening skills, self-motivation, logical thinking, leveraging the power of impossible thinking, and several other relevant concepts. It is hoped that this book will find favour with students, teachers, business executives, and the general readers.
