Due to globalization and liberalization, customers have become more and more demanding, while companies have become more competitive. They feel the need to tailor ways of delivering value to the organization in terms of training people. This stresses the importance of training, education and development in any organization to enhance the quality of work of employees at all levels.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR K.B.S Kumar
K B S Kumar holds a PGDBA (Finance) from the ICFAI Business School, Hyderabad; Masters degrees in personnel management and organizational psychology from Osmania and Annamalai University, respectively. At present he is working as a Consulting Editor at ICFAI Books, a division of the ICFAI University Press. He is also an adjunct faculty at ICFAI Business School. He contributed articles, case studies and book reviews on the topics of leadership, change management, and training and development to various publications of the ICFAI University Press such as Insurance Chronicle, Global CEO, HRM Review and Chartered Financial Analyst. He edited a few books also published by the ICFAI University Press. His areas of interest include communication, human psychology, leadership, emotional intelligence, and training and development.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR P.V.L. Raju
P V L Raju holds a masters degree in English literature and has a postgraduate diploma in human resource management. He is a Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers. He worked in a senior managerial position in a public sector bank and is now associated with the ICFAI University as a faculty member. He is actively associated with ICFAI University publications. He edits a monthly magazine on human capital titled HRM Review. Besides, he has edited several executive reference books in the areas of human resource management, training and e-learning. He has five years of training experience in organizational behaviour and HR. His areas of interest include transfer of learning to the job and experiential learning as a teaching pedagogy.
