The author contrasts the love of God, which is real, eternal and absolute, with the love of man towards him. Which is unreal, adventitious and relative and depends for its manifestation upon God’s antecedent love. Author discloses the conditions of the undertaking of work and he also implies that during two year’s intermission between the conclusion of the first book and commencement of the second he has not come under those conditions.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR Jalalu-din Rumi
Jalalu ‘d-din Rumi, was born in Balkh (Khorassam) in 1207 and died in 1273 at Konia in Asiatic Turkey. His great work, the Masnavi was 43 years in writing. During the past seven hundred years, this book, called by Iranians “The Koran in Persianâ€, a tribute paid to no other book, has occupied a central place in Sufism, Rumi’s name is associated with the founding of the order known in Durope as the “Dancing Dervishes†and in the East as “The Path of the Master.â€
