ABOUT THE AUTHOR Aruna Kapoor

Aruna Kapoor, Born on Sept. 27, 1950, is basically a communicator and has been associated with the world of playwriting and film-making quite for sometime now. She has also adopted a number of plays for the stage, radio and television and has enacted her role in them. Besides, she has also been writing poems, short stories and novels from time to time. Aruna made her mark with the publication of her first novel ‘Ret Ke Aansoo’ in 1975 which took up the cause of women. In fact, Aaruna seeks to fight for the rights of women in all her creative endeavours. Her first telefilm ‘Chahal’ telecast in 1980, dealt effectively with the problem of dowry. So far, Aruna has published three novels,, three collections of poems, and one collections each of short stories and plays. She has also won many awards.
