A summarized version of some of the lectures and writings of India’s patriot-saint. The lectures and writings of Swami Vivekananda, summarized and retold in this book, though devoted mainly to the religion and culture of India, have also a direct bearing on Indian nationalism. They develop a particular theory of nationalism which is in the main opposed to the current ideas of it. These expositions of the ideals of Indian nationalism occur in the replies he gave to the addresses of welcome that were presented to him on return to India, when he traveled from Colombo to Calcutta and from there to the Punjab and Kashmir.
