ABOUT THE AUTHOR Avijit Ghosh

Avijit Ghosh is one of the most promising musicians of the Senia Maihar Gharana who continues the work of preserving the rich heritage of Indian Classical Music through the Sarod. He has completed his M.A. and earned his doctorate in Instrumental Music from the Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata. He has received several National and International awards. Apart from being a brilliant performer and a teacher he also conducts stress reduction programmes through live Indian Music. This is his debut as an author, an attempt to document the evolution and development of one of the most mystical classical instruments.
