The Poetry of Swami Vivekananda and Sri Aurobindo' is the apex of religious and spiritual experiences of the two important philosopher-poets of modern India. It is redolent of the mystical and transcendental poetry of the Gita, the Upanishads and other scriptures. While making a comparative assessment of the two from the viewpoint of its scriptural basis, the present work highlights the need for such a new critical approach for analyzing the philosophic-spiritual poetry. The work also studies the interdependence of poetry and philosophy and bringing of Mantric verse into Indian English poetry. The book throws light on a little known esoteric fact that Sri Aurobindo is a spiritual heir of Swami Vivekananda. Interdisciplinary in approach, the study makes a rich contribution to the corpus of Indian literature, criticism and philosophy.
