This is a collection of 22 stories based upon human nature in its varied dimensions. The theme-despite prevalence of violence, bitterness and bloodshed etc., love, affection and basic goodness in human character continue to remain the binding factor and bedrock for survival of the universe. These studies amply establish that thought the system has suffered massive setbacks and erosion, it still functions for individuals with sincere intentions, honesty and determination. Some stories highlight the trait of determination and single minded devotion to achieve one’s goal and objective while some convey a prominent message that life is not always serious and complex. The stories have been written in a simple and lucid style and should appeal to the readers.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR Tusar Kanti De
Born in village Buadpur in Orissa, Tusar Kanti De is a keen observer of human beings, situations and events. From early childhood, he has been writing short stories, both in Oriya and English language which have been published in various magazines, periodicals and newspapers. His stories portray the various facets of human personality, the downtrodden and the complexities of day to day life. He is a Postgraduate in Political Science and M.Phil in Public Administration. Tusar joined the central Service in 1976 after qualifying inthe All India Civil Services Examination. During his long service spanning nearly three decades, he has held several important assignments in the Union Government. At present, he is Director (Administration) in Directorate General Quality Assurance, Ministry of Defence.
