The 1st Indian Asean Car Rally 2004 was a once in a lifetime journey. We traveled through 9 South East Asian Countries and across 8,000 kilometres in 20 days, with 250 participants in 62 vehicles. Sponsored by mahindra, IndianOil, JK Tyres and other captains of Indian industry, who spearheaded an incredible vision of the Prime Minister of India, to link 9 of the 11 ASEAN countries by a single road. Organized by India brand Equity Foundation (IBEF), Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI), the ASEAN Member Countries and was supported by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. The Road to Mandalay is a personal photographic memoir of this remarkable road adventure through North East India, Myanmar, Thailand, Lao PDR, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Kaizad Gustad

Kaizad Gustad was born in Mumbai and lives between Mumbai, London and Sydney when he's not on the road that is. A filmmaker, writer and photographer, he considers travel as his first passion. He has made tow feature films, 'Bombay Boys' and 'Boom'. He is also the author of a collection of short stories
