The first part of the book attempts to give a picture, in outline, of the school of the future, as the eminent educationist writer perceived it. The second part of the book deals with certain aspects of Higher Education: with Vocational Education, University Education and the Education of the teachers. The overall message of the book is that the school of the future must have an active and creative environment and try to become a centre of community life. It must aim at providing education for happiness. Education alone can bring true happiness in the life of our generation and act as a bulwark against the cheap distractions and indulgencies which pass for happiness with the majority of unculted people; it alone can save our younger generations from the future cultural shock.
