The primary cause of human suffering and unhappiness is an illusional sense of separation between the real Self and God. It is only the habit of identifying with mental, emotional, and physical states and objective phenomena that causes and sustains the illusion of separate existence. When this error is corrected, enlightenment is spontaneously experienced. To be enlightened is to know that we are spiritual beings and have accurate, comprehensive knowledge of the infinite field of consciousness and the processes of life. The information presented in this book is the way of diligent inquiry, constructive living, and attentive spiritual practice that illumines the mind, clarifies awareness, and unveils innate knowledge, qualities and abilities. Taught by enlightened seers through the ages, it is timeless because it is in accord with universal, impersonal laws or the principle of cause and effect. Our innate knowledge and qualities emerge more easily and rapidly when rational thinking and orderly, wholesome living support appropriate spiritual practices. Many more people are now interested in spirituality because the human population is increasing and global awakening is accelerated. What is needed is broad dissemination of accurate information about higher realities. This book fulfills the desideratum.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Roy Eugene Davis

Roy Eugene Davis (born 1931 in Leavittsburg, Ohio) is an American Kriya Yoga teacher. Davis was ordained by his guru in 1951 and was appointed as the minister of the Phoenix, Arizona, Self-Realization Fellowship Center in March 1952, shortly after Yogananda's passing. In late 1953, aware of a need to learn to live effectively in the secular world, he withdrew from the organization--but not from his relationship with the Kriya yoga tradition. After 2 years in the U.S. Army Medical Corps at Fort Riley, Kansas, he began his mission as an independent teacher, traveling throughout America to lecture and present classes in dozens of cities. In 1964, he lectured to large audiences in 8 cities in Japan under the auspices of the Seicho-No-Ie movement founded there by Dr. Masaharu Taniguchi. Another lecture tour was sponsored in Japan Seicho-No-Ie in 1978 and a few years later in Brazil. Some of his books are published in nine languages, with more than 40 different editions in print in the U.S. and several countries. He is also the publisher of Truth Journal magazine and writes monthly lessons for CSA members around the world. Davis moved to Lake-Mont, in Northeast Georgia, in 1972 to establish The Center for Spiritual Awareness as a permanent base for his ministry. The first name of this organization had been "Christian Spiritual Alliance".
