The present book is a product of intensive fieldwork conducted among the Lohar-Gadiyas of Malthon town of Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh, India. The objective of the study is to focus sensitively sedentrized life and changing scenario of socio-demographic and health practices profile. The author highlight the socio-demographic and health practices profile, including maternal and child health practices, environmental sanitation, sanitary habits and their personal hygiene etc. The book contains fifteen chapters, in which twelve different aspects of sedentrized or semi-nomadic life have been covered. In view of its multi-disciplinary nature, the book, which is first of its kind, would be of immense help and use to general readers, academicians, socio-cultural anthropologists, medical anthropologists and researchers.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR A N Sharma
DR. A.N. Sharma is a well-known Anthropologist. HE is professor in the department of Anthropology, Dr. H.S. Gaur University, Sagar, M.P. He has been involved in research since 1977. His area of research interest are demography, Medical anthropology and applied Anthropology, He has published several scholarly papers in journal of national and international repute. A number of research projects have been accomplished by him in different capacities, which are being supported by various national and international agencies. Hr is the author of eleven books. The National seminars on “Modern Trends in Anthropology,†“ Tribal Eco-System and Malnutrition in India†and “Emerging Roles of Anthropological knowledge in promoting Tribal welfare and Development†were organized by him.

Ankur Agrawal is a B.Tech (Manufacturing-Science & Engineering) from IIT Kharegpur and is doing MBA from ISB Hyderabad. He has worked for 4 years as Asstt. Manager, OSD to the President, Business Analyst, and Secretary to CEO in M/s Jindal United Steel In-Corporation, USA, Baytown, Texas, USA.
