There has been a growing trend of violence against women, more so with hunger and greed for material things. Progressive changes in personal life style, living standards, varied growth, caused by urbanization and changes in social ethos contribute to violent attitudes and tendencies towards women, which has resulted in an increase in crimes against women. We find that from the very beginning of the world history, women have been at the receiving end, cutting across the regional and political barriers. In family life, wife abuse is perhaps the most prevalent form of an atrocity. In today’s world, women are vulnerable to all sorts of exploitation, molestation, violence and even fatal assaults. Of course law is there to protect them, but in most of the cases, they do not approach for a legal support at all, leave apart fighting a case in the court. Here is this modest work, an attempt in opposition of evil forces at work against the better half of our social fabric. If this book succeeds in creating an effective awareness among those who matter in our system and setup, it would be an achievement in itself.
