The present book is a beautiful guide to Sanskrit composition. It has been designed as a good treatise on Sanskrit syntax. Divided into four parts, the book covers the general scope of syntax, principal laws of concord Government and Principal rules in Karaka Prakarana, important grammatical forms such as participles, the Infinitive mood, tenses and moods. Particles are also treated and illustrated. In the fourth part, the learned author has dealt with the Analysis and Synthesis of Sanskrit sentences applying the system of English analysis to Sanskrit sentences explaining the rules of English grammar by examples from Sanskrit authors. Several exercises have been given facilitating the student in writing a few sentences of original Sanskrit on a given subject. The section on letter writing is equally useful. The book is an important teaching guide keeping in view the difficulties faced by the students.
