Comparative materia medica study is a field which has been neglected except in a very few instances by early maters in homoeopathic materia medica. It is not enough to understand our remedies so that we recognize in the symptoms of a patient the outline of a remedy; the similar remedy is not enough… We must know the differences and the similarity so that we can select the simillimum if we wish to justify our choice of homoeopathic practice as the only sound therapeutic procedure.
