This book is a collection of photographs of the tribals of India, accompanied by descriptions of the author’s experiences among them. Beginning in the early forties, renowned photographer Sunil Janah travelled extensively, for thirty years, to remote and hitherto almost inaccessible tribal villages. For days he lived with these people and developed a closeness and friendship with them. This enabled him to capture with his camera these intimate images of their lives.
