In this disturbing and insightful book, Amir Mir has pieced together a fascinating mosaic of information about Jehadi personalities in Pakistan. In the process, he exposes the continuing connection between the Pakistani military establishment, particularly the ISI, and the different militant groups operating from that country. The True Face of Jehadis makes it clear that the root of the problem is the Pakistani leadership’s ambivalence vis-a-vis the jehadis, and its failure to stop using extremism and jehadi violence as instruments of state policy.
